Our client is a retirement community situated in Walton on Thames, Surrey in 230 acres of beautiful woodlands where their aim is to be the best place to age in Britain. They are looking for a Team Manager for our nursing services at the Trust. These currently consist of a 76 place nursing home for older people that will develop into specialist nursing care from their brand new care hub for 30 older people with complex nursing needs and arranging health care for 600 Villagers, wherever they live in the Village. You will join at a very exciting time as they firm up plans to build more housing options across the Village to help more older people.
As the CQC Registered Manager you will be providing a customer focussed experience to people using their services and their families along with managing and supporting a large and highly motivated team of Registered Nurses and Care staff. You will not be alone in doing this. Reporting to the Head of Clinical and Personal Care Services you will work alongside two very experienced Team Managers for Residential Care and Care at Home and their Therapy Team who together you will support people living at the Village both present and future.
You will certainly need to be a Registered Nurse with an active PIN along with have a demonstrable track record of delivering customer focussed, personalised Nursing Care in a changing environment. You will also need to have strong leadership skills and be solution focussed, proactive and sensitive to the needs of older people.
Family accommodation is available in the village if required.
·The Team Manager will be registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide the regulated activity of Accommodation for people requiring nursing and /or personal care in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act.
·Market the service to ensure full occupancy, meeting clearly defined targets set out by the charity, working closely with the Head of Health & Care Services and other colleagues as necessary
·Motivate and manage staff to ensure they achieve their potential, to include the management and completion of the Appraisal Process throughout the team
·Lead a high quality care service that responds effectively to people's needs and is coordinated around each individual
·Lead a team of professional Nursing, Care and ancillary staff ensuring they are trained and supported to undertake their role and that they maintain their professional code of conduct in order to perform their role
·Develop and promote the service to commissioners and private clients, identifying and securing new clients to meet occupancy targets
·Liaise with the people we support and their families ensuring they are a key partner in service delivery
·Facilitate key inspection visits from regulatory agents, keeping all necessary records up to date to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
·Manage the service effectively and to the best quality through appropriate staff efficiencies.
·Develop the team through monthly supervision, working supervisions, appraisal and training
·Continue to update CareSys, implement rosters and provide key performance metrics for performance management purposes to demonstrate that the Trust is operating efficiently and effectively
·Manage a profit and loss account for the service in accordance with the budget set, report monthly on the progress of the service and make efficiencies to ensure the budget is met and where possible exceeded
·Work closely with the Finance on invoicing
·Ensure that clinical and care support plans and risk assessments are in place for all people supported with evidence of their involvement in their care and support
·Participate in direct service delivery as and when required
