There’s no better way to hone your healthcare skills than to join the Territorial Army. Quite simply, a role with us guarantees a whole host of advanced challenges that you just won’t encounter anywhere else. Providing vital nursing care to sick and injured service personnel, you might find yourself practicing in modern UK hospitals or in the more basic and unpredictable environment of a field hospital overseas.
Responsible for making sure patients are comfortable, you’ll be involved in everything from helping them wash, eat, drink and move around, to observing their conditions and reporting on any changes. Working alongside dedicated, registered Nurses from the Royal Army Nursing Corps, you’ll learn a lot about great communication and teamwork.
And that’s not all you’ll learn. We’ll provide you with basic soldiering training, including survival skills and weapon handling. Then you’ll undertake clinical placements through the Defence Medical Services Training Group, while studying a range of theoretical and practical aspects of healthcare.
To join us, you’ll need to be under 43 years of age and physically fit. Currently employed in an acute environment, you are qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 in healthcare. With our support and opportunities, you’ll continue to grow and develop both personally and professionally.
