Asthma Nurse Specialist

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Asthma Nurse Specialist to join our nursing team to support the provision of the Asthma UK Adviceline service.

This is a diverse and interesting role, which includes a variety of opportunities to make a real difference to the lives of people with asthma. As an experienced Asthma Nurse Specialist and member of the nursing team you will be responding to calls and email enquiries from people with asthma, their families and carers, healthcare professionals and others.

Our successful Adviceline and email service receives over 7500 enquiries a year so this service will be a major focus of your work. Additionally, with training and support, other opportunities may include providing asthma training in a variety of settings and the opportunity to represent the charity externally at conferences and other events.

You must be a qualified nurse with post-registration experience in respiratory medicine, especially asthma, gained from working either in a hospital or community setting and it is essential that applicants possess a diploma in Asthma Care.

You will be motivated and enthusiastic with strong communication skills and the ability to work well within our small friendly team. Basic keyboard and database skills are also prerequisites for this role. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to provide expert support to people with asthma and to develop professionally.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosure.

Our salaries for Asthma Nurse Specialists are comparable with Agenda for Change pay level 6 depending on experience.
